Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 premiered yesterday and we have all sorts of mixed feelings for the show. We’re excited, curious, nostalgic and so happy! We had been waiting for this for way too long and now, it’s finally here.
We were thrilled when Nakuul Mehta was finalised to play the protagonist on the show. While several actresses were considered for the role of the leading lady (including Divyanka Tripathi), Disha Parmar bagged the role. And, we were beyond ecstatic when that happened. The first trailer of the show released weeks ago and it dropped some major hints about the plot. We knew that it would have elements from its OG season and it did.
The first episode of the show reveals that Nakuul’s character, Ram, is a business tycoon who loves his family and is addicted to popping medicines. Disha’s character, Priya, comes from a humble background and lives a drama-free life. There are, obviously, several changes in the storyline as well. Honestly, these changes and the similarities make Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 one of the best and most promising shows on Indian television RN. And, if you do not believe us, here are a few reasons that will convince you:
The Show Makes Us So Nostalgic
The OG show, starring Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar, was one of the most loved daily soaps on Indian television. The show got released in 2011 and it means that the second season has returned after a decade. That’s a huge deal as our lifestyle has changed enormously in these 10 years. And, it would be amazing to see how the makers have planned to stay relevant in today’s world.
It’s Not Your Usual Family Drama
It’s a breath of fresh air! No dominating saas making evil saajish in the house and no docile bahu trying to win her family’s heart. It’s a sweet story of two individuals who find love in the most unexpected place—in their marriage.
Nakuul & Disha’s Chemistry Is Cute AF
We last watched them together as Aditya and Pankhuri in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai…Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara eight years ago. That’s how long it has been. The excitement of their fans to see them together after ages is palpable and gotta say, they are not disappointed. Their chemistry is cute AF and here’s what the netizens are saying:

The Characters Are Amazing
Nakuul and Disha’s characters are a little different from the OG characters. While Ram is a foodie, he is also a die-hard romantic who loves rain. Priya, on the other hand, is savage, practical, balanced and hates rain. The best part about them is that they are relatable AF. There are high chances that you know someone like Ram and Priya IRL as well (or you are like them!). Both the actors are doing a fab job with their roles and the Twitterati are mighty impressed. It’s So Realistic
Not only the show is different from the regular saas-bahu drama, but it’s also not your regular love story. It’s a story about two individuals who are totes different from each other. Ram is a sucker for romance and Priya has given up on love completely. Their story feels organic and realistic instead of forced and OTT. This is what a fan tweeted and we so agree:
