Don’t know about you, but I loved Nakuul Mehta’s chemistry with Disha Parmar in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara. And, of course, we don’t think we need to tell you how sizzling he and Surbhi Chandna looked together in Ishqbaaz. NGL, we think Nakuul looks good with anyone on-screen. Agree? Well, apparently Divyanka Tripathi does not.
Turns out, the actress was approached to play the lead in Bade Achhe Lagte Hai 2, but rejected the offer because of Nakuul. Wait, what? Keep scrolling to know all about it.
While talking to a leading daily, Divyanka revealed that she had apprehensions about pairing up with Nakuul in the show. She said, “As far as the report of me looking older than him onscreen is considered, I totally agree with it. Because when I was offered the show and I was proposed this idea, I was surprised after hearing about the pairing and my family also reacted the same way. They felt that we would look slightly off. But when I spoke to the show’s team over the phone, I agreed to do the look test. I felt like let’s give the look test and see how our pair actually looks on screen.”
Hmm… NGL, we think they’d have looked cute together. Both Nakuul and Divyanka are stunning actors and have given us quite amazing performances in the past. But surprisingly, the Ye Hai Mohabbatein actress was not convinced about it even after a look test.
“After doing the character I was still not able to relate to it and I feel that’s a very personal choice. If I am not able to relate to it, that doesn’t mean someone else also won’t. Someone else can relate to it and might do her 200% justice to the show. And I am sure the season 2 would be another big hit from Balaji,” she said.
The show’s first season featured Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar, who discovered love after marrying each other. The new season will apparently be based on the same plot as well. The OG leads of the show had incredible chemistry and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the fans of the show expect the same for its sequel too. While talking about it, Divyanka added, “So, I had this feeling that Nakuul and I won’t match or look good onscreen together. I am fine with that thought. I feel someone else who comes on board to play the female lead will do justice to the show and I had conveyed my thought across.”
Hmm… So, if not Divyanka, then who? NGL, we are quite curious to find out who will star opposite Nakuul now!
