It looks like Ekta Kapoor is all set to take the audience on a trip down memory lane this year. How else do you explain all the iconic shows that are coming back to small screen? First, we got to know about Pavitra Rishta 2.0 and then, Bade Acche Lagte Hai 2.
Speaking of the latter, the hunt for the leading lady has been going on for quite some time now. And it looks like the search may finally be over. A little birdie tells us that the makers of the show have zeroed in on Disha Parmar for the lead role and she will be starring opposite Nakuul Mehta. Gosh, this is so exciting! We’ve been fans of this hit jodi ever since we first saw them in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara. And now, if everything goes well, the two will reunite on-screen after eight years.
Earlier, Divyanka Tripathi was approached for the same role, however, she turned it down. During a recent live session on her Insta, she opened up and said, “Yes, I was offered Bade Acche Lagte Hai 2 and I had even given a look test for the show. But I did not say yes to the show as I could not relate to the character.” She also added that whenever she takes up a project, she devotes herself to it. She explained, “It is like getting married to the role and if I am not convinced about the role, I will never do it. I couldn’t feel like the character. Hence, I had to say no to Bade Acche Lagte Hain.”
That’s not all, multiple reports suggest that Devoleena Bhattacharjee was also approached for the show. And if the rumours are to be believed, the makers were quite happy with her look test and wanted to sign her ASAP. But, it looks like things didn’t work out with her. And now Disha may be all set to play the lead role in the hit serial.
