Pavitra Rishta 2.0 starring Ankita Lokhande and Shaheer Sheikh in the lead roles is all set to release tomorrow on Zee5 and we’re so thrilled! The actors shared the trailer of the show a few weeks ago on their Instagram handles and it made us quite nostalgic. Archana and Manav have always been one of our favourite television couples and to watch their love story once again will definitely be a treat.
The show is special to us because it is a tribute to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, but that’s not the only reason why we are waiting for it to premiere tomorrow. Here are all the things we’re expecting from the reboot and the reasons why we’re so excited for Pavitra Rishta 2.0:
The Story: Simple & Pure
The reboot has not made major changes to the OG plot and if you have watched the show before, you would know that Archana and Manav’s characters are extremely relatable. They are two hard-working people who have a very practical approach to life. Both of them do not have a flair for drama and their love story is pretty simple. They meet, feel the connection and decide to spend their lives together. TBH, it’s what a lot of us needed after watching several OTT romantic dramas recently.
The Chemistry
While Ankita will be reprising her role as Archana, Shaheer will play the role of Manav that was earlier played by SSR. The actor has some big shoes to fill, but we’re sure that he will do a pretty impressive job. The trailer of the series has already given us a glimpse of Ankita and Shaheer’s chemistry and we think they will be incredible on the show together.
The Nostalgia
The OG daily soap had released in 2009 and it means that the show will finally return after 12 years! A lot has changed in the past decade and we would love to see how the makers will incorporate these changes in the storyline.
No More The Docile Bahu
While we loved Ankita’s character and her acting, we have to accept that certain elements of the OG show were highly problematic. She was a quintessential daily soap bahu who did not call out her mother-in-law for her torturous antics. But, as we said, it’s not 2009 anymore and we are expecting a lot more from Archana now. We hope that the girl living in 2021 is bold, capable of making her own decisions and not afraid to fight for her rights.
Our New Manav
Pavitra Rishta was the first daily soap that starred SSR as the lead. While his character will always have a special place in our hearts, we really want Shaheer to revive his role on-screen once again. In the trailer, we saw the actor portray Manav with utmost sincerity and we’re sure that he will bring his own essence to the character on the show.
Well, we have already bookmarked our calendar for September 15 and TBH, we cannot wait anymore!
