Only a few Indian daily soaps hold a special place in our hearts and Pavitra Rishta is definitely one of them. TBH, we were a little skeptical when we got to know that a reboot of the show is in the making. After all, it’s not easy for anyone to fill the shoes of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. And, recreate the magic that he and Ankita Lokhande created as Manav and Archana. But, guess what? All our worries can rest now because we have proof that Pavitra Rishta 2.0 is going to be just as amazing as its OG version.
The official social media handle of ALTBalaji has shared a sneak peek of the shoot and NGL, it’s making us nostalgic AF! While Ankita looks beautiful as Archana, Shaheer Sheikh looks quite convincing as Manav. Take a look:
In the caption, they wrote, “Sometimes in most ordinary lives, we find the most extraordinary love stories! Witness the extraordinary love story of Manav and Archana.”
It appears that the show will once again take us through the couple’s journey from the start. In the original show, they married each other after Manav’s mother lied to Archana’s family that her son was a mechanical engineer and not a mechanic. Despite their differences, the two fell in love and made us root for them harder. Though it wasn’t easy because Usha Nadkarni, Archana’s MIL, legit tried to make her life a living hell. Well, it’s great to see the veteran actress reprise her role as well and we hope that this time, she’s a little nicer towards her daughter-in-law.
Pavitra Rishta 2.0 is going to release on the OTT platform and while talking about it, casting director, Adityoa Suranna said, “Pavitra Rishta 2.0 is completely digital. To be honest, it is a challenge for everybody. The task is not only for me but also for the actors who have been locked. If we have seen something already, we have already set a benchmark.”
We have to say that we totes agree with Adityoa. TBH, Shaheer is defs reminding us of SSR’s Manav, but we are quite excited to see him bring his own essence to the character. While talking about his role, the casting director said, “It is not only for me but for the actors, directors and for everyone. There are two people (from the old cast), Ankita Lokhande is playing Archana’s part, Usha ma’am is playing her part. We have already seen them and have loved them. But for the rest of the actors, they have a challenge. Especially for Manav, for Shaheer Sheikh it is a big challenge to live up to that space. But at the same time, it is a challenge for directors, me and other actors as well.”
Nostalgia, excitement, and anxiousness—these emotions perfectly describe how we are feeling ATM after looking at all the BTS pics. Honestly, we cannot wait to start streaming the show already.
