Ye Toh Hona Hi Tha: Twitterati Calls Out Karan Johar For Favouring Shamita Shetty In BB OTT

While Bigg Boss might not be a scripted reality show per se, every season there are a few contestants that the makers’ favour more than the others. These are the people that are either recognised as Colors TV’s faces or happen to be host Salman Khan’s personal favourite. Now, while the show might have a new host this year, the favouritism continues. In fact, just two weeks into BB OTT and we already know that Shamita Shetty is being favoured by Karan Johar in a very not-so-subtle way. After the first Weekend Ka Vaar of the season, we were kinda sure that it was just a matter of time before he gets called out by the netizens for the same. That’s exactly what is happening right now. Sab Maaf: All Is Fair For Shamita Shetty

In last night’s episode, Karan Johar‘s went on bashing almost everyone in the house except Shamita. This was when the actress strayed a number of times throughout the week. She was the Boss Lady of the house this week and made a lot of problematic decisions. From the Domino task to the way she was treating everyone in the house just ‘coz she was the Boss Lady, we really thought that Karan would call her out and knock some sense into her head. However, no mention of her weak ass “sanchalak” skills was made during the episode. In fact, Karan went ahead and called out Raqesh Bapat for being “dominated” and “influenced” but had nothing to say about who exactly was influencing him. Quite convenient, no? He didn’t even say anything to Shamita and Neha even after they confessed to being biased towards their team members

His Apparent Hatred Towards Divya

Last weekend, Karan had called out Divya Agarwal for doing everything that Shamita was also doing in the house. Basically, it was a typical “twada kutta Tommy, sada kutta, kutta” situation. Some of his comments also ended up sowing discord between the two ladies. Perhaps that was exactly the intention–to portray one as the heroine and the other as the vamp here. However, Divya did not take that lying down and throughout the week kept talking about how Karan led to a lot of confusion in the house. Of course, that ruffled some feathers and the host took it out by being really mean to Divya last night. He tried showing Divya down by telling her that he is the host and she is the housemate for a reason and very blatantly told her that he gets to decide upon the “eliminations.” Yup, he legit did that!

It was quite unappetising for the audience to watch Karan (the host) seeking Shamita’s (a contestant) opinion for almost every topic that he raised last night. Also, it was super cringy to listen to all the “darlings” and “sweeties” that he kept throwing in while mollycoddling the actress. The netizens have obviously had enough and here’s how they are calling him out now:

Sorry bro, but you kinda asked for it this time around. Go ahead and favour your favourite person but don’t make it this obvious Karan. We know you can do better!
