Meet The Instagram-Famous Grandparents Who Turned Forgotten Laundry Into A Style Statement

What do you do when you have piles of unclaimed clothes? Wan Ji and Chang Sho-Er, the brand new Instagram-famous grandparents on the block may have found the answer and it’s one that you will love. Currently in their 80s, the couple has been running a laundromat for decades in the Houli District of central Taiwan, helping customers with their services. Except, many of them move to another city, pass away or simply forget to pick their clothes.

Clothes Too Many

As imaginable, all of it left the couple with multiple pieces of clothing over the years and even after donating much of what was left behind, Wan Ji and Chang Sho-Er still had a solid stockpile of clothing no one ever picked up.

An Instagram Sensation

It was their grandson Reef Chang, who saw how bored they were during the long, slow days and in order to lift their spirits, decided to do something fun for them. Styling them in the clothes left behind, the 31-year-old convinced his grandparents to pose for him and what resulted were editorial spread worthy pictures. Their Instagram account, WantShowAsYoung, puts their modelling prowess to the forefront. Expect super cool style and photographs of the couple posing in their laundromat or in its proximity. With 441,000 followers and counting, the idea of creating an Instagram account for their untapped style may have been just for fun, but it hasn’t stopped the grandparents from taking social media by a storm

The Coolest Grandparents On The Block

Call it undiscovered style, but Wan Ji and Chang Sho-Er’s nonchalant sartorial style showcased on their viral Instagram account is all the proof one needs to agree that age, in fact, is just a number. Plaid skirts, belt bags and scarves tied ever so casually around the neck form Wan Ji’s outfits, with her husband Chang Sho-Er accompanying her in boxy shirts and shorts and sneakers, as one does.

Along with their cool pictures also comes a friendly reminder: “Don’t forget to pick up your laundry.” Take a look at the young couple’s style below.
