Out of nail paint remover? No worries. Make a solution of water and white vinegar and dip your nails in it for a few minutes.

Buffing your nails is like getting a clean canvas for you to paint. This small step can go a long way in avoiding chipped nail polish.

3. Apply Not One, But Two Layers Of Base Coat

This has to be the best tip that no one gave you. Where does the nail paint chip off from most often? From the top half of the nail, right? So, you first coat the top half of your nail, let it dry, and then coat the entire nail. You can either use a glossy, transparent nail enamel or a rubberized one.

4. Try This Basecoat

To secure the matters further, go for a rubberized base coat.

Warm paints spread easily. So, when you begin, start by rolling the paint in between your palms. It will also remove bubbles if your nail paint has any.

6. Go For Multiple Thin Coats

When applying nail polish, especially dark shades, you have to be patient. Instead of applying one thick coat, apply multiple thin coats. Apply another coat after the first has dried a little.

7. Yet, Don’t Wait Too Long Before The Final Transparent Coat

After you apply the last of your thin coats of the nail paint, don’t let it completely dry before you put your final transparent coat. This will help the final coat blend with the colour of your nail paint.

8. Pro-Tip: Seal The Top Edge Of Your Nail With a Top Coat

When you are applying a top coat, use the brush to put it on the top edge of your nails but you can spare the cuticle sides. This step ensures that your nail paint does not chip off from the top and stays sealed in.
