RIP Logic: The WTF Promo Of This Daily Soap Will Make You Wanna Break Your TV

When critically acclaimed shows like Anupamaa started airing, they gave us a glimmer of hope that our television industry might have finally moved past its illogical plots. But sadly, the second we begin to think that things will get better—the producers find a new way to baffle us with their bizarre narratives.

Recently, the promo of a new show, Thapki Pyar Ki 2, has gone viral and for all the wrong reasons. Don’t know what we’re talking about? Take a look at the video yourself:

In the scene, Thapki (played by Jigyasa Singh) can be seen getting ready but is interrupted by her husband, Purab (played by Akash Ahuja), in the most unusual way. He slips accidentally on the floor and ends up putting his fingers in her box of vermillion. Umm…okay, we can believe that. But, what comes next makes us scratch our heads in frustration. As he tries to regain his balance, he ‘accidentally’ puts the sindoor on his wife’s head. I mean, WTH even?!

The funniest bit is that it takes them a solid half-minute in the end to process everything while intense music plays in the background. Obviously, netizens have been watching this video on loop and have quite interesting remarks to share. Here’s what they’ve been saying:

It’s high time that the makers of Indian daily soaps get a reality check and come up with plots that actually make sense. The audience deserves to watch intelligent, well-written shows and we hope TV producers do better next time!
