Veteran actress Rita Bhaduri, famous for her roles in TV-shows like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Khichdi, passed away early Tuesday morning.
According to news reports, the actress was suffering from kidney-related illnesses and was hospitalised for the last 10 days. Rita, 62, was last seen in her role as grandmother of the house Imarti Devi in the show Nimki Mukhia.

Fellow Bollywood actor Shishir Sharma confirmed the news of her passing on his Facebook account. The Raazi actor wrote, “We deeply regret to inform you that Reeta Bhaduri has departed for her journey beyond. The funeral rites will be held on 17th July, Tuesday, 12 noon at the Cremation Ground, Parsi Wada Road, Parshiwada, Chakala, Andheri East. Extremely sad.. lost a wonderful human being .. a mother to many of us.. will miss u Ma…”
Over her five-decade-long career in Bollywood and TV, the long-serving actress appeared in over 70 movies. This included successful films like Raja, Beta, Julie, Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, Hero No.1 and Virasat among others.
However, she gained instant fame on the small screen where she donned roles of mothers and grandmothers frequently. Some of her most prominent roles were in hit TV shows like Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Choti Bahu, Kumkum and Khichdi.
