It’s Like A Permanent Scar: Alaya F On Her Accident Before Jawaani Jaaneman

Pooja Bedi’s daughter, Alaya F, made her Bollywood debut along with Saif Ali Khan and Tabu in Jawaani Jaaneman earlier this year in January. While the movie did not do great at the box office, the star kid’s performance was well lauded by all. For anyone who has watched the movie, it will be quite hard to believe that it is Alaya’s first Bollywood project. The 22-year old’s performance spoke volumes but guess what? Alaya was not in the best of her spirits when she started filming for Jawaani Jaaneman. Yes, you read that right. An incident took place just three days before she started shooting. The incident, she says would stay with her forever.

During a live chat with the entertainment portal, Bollywood Life, Alaya revealed, “I have something that is going to literally stay with me forever. Three days before the shoot began, I was at a restaurant somewhere in London, where I ordered a nice kettle of piping hot green tea. I remember, I was pouring a cup for one of my friends while I was talking to another and I suddenly poured this piping hot tea straight on my leg. Following this, I had a massive 3rd degree burn on my leg, which was huge and flushy and had a lot of pus.” Well, that must have been painful!

The newbie also revealed that she had shared a picture of her wound with the producer just a night before day one of the shoot. Though she was in a lot of pain, she did show up on the sets. “When I went on the sets, Saif (Ali Khan) sir was like ‘What is this? It is like a proper 3rd degree burn,” said Alaya. “I thought it would get covered with makeup, but they (the makers) told me I would get an infection if makeup was on. They had to literally CGI it out of the film. There are burn cleanups that have happened and they had VFXed it out,” she added. How brave of you, Alaya!

“It’s like a permanent scar that I have, which is never going to go. It is going to stay like forever,” shared the Jawaani Jaaneman actress.
