Daughter of Pooja Bedi, Alaya F is all set to mark her big entry with the Saif Ali Khan and Tabu starrer, Jawaani Jaaneman. The movie is about a 40-year-old father and his teenage daughter, which from the looks of Alaya’s Instagram is set in modern-day London. We must say, Alaya is looking promising in the trailer. We can’t wait for January 31, the date her debut film is releasing, to come sooner.

Born on November 28, 1997, Alaya and her younger brother Omar have been brought up by single mother Pooja Bedi, who finalised her divorce with ex-husband Farhan Furniturewala in 2003. Alaya was just six then. Read on to know all about the lead actor of Jawaani Jaaneman.
Her Original Name(s)
When we first found out about Alaya through her Instagram, her name was Aalia. Sometime later, we noticed a slight change in the positioning of the ‘a’ in her name. It had then become Alaia. While that completely changed the pronunciation of her name, it was only until recently when the ‘i’ was replaced by ‘y’. Hence, Alaya. Whether this was done to avoid any mix-up with Alia Bhatt or because of numerology, looks like Alaya F is what the actress is sticking with.
Is A Film School Graduate
After completing her schooling from Jamnabai Narsee International School in Mumbai, Alaya moved to New York for higher studies. Did you know she’s a New York University (NYU) dropout? Well, only because she decided to change her school and go to New York Academy instead to pursue acting. At NYU, she was studying Film Education.

Was In A Reality TV Show
While this is the first time Alaya will be making a debut on the big screen, this isn’t her first taste at acting for an audience. In 2011, Alaya along with her mother Pooja and brother Omar had participated in the TV reality show, Maa Exchange, on Sony Entertainment Television. The concept of the show was about swapping celebrity mothers with common housewives. Yikes!

Being a dancer myself, I’m such a fan of Alaya’s contemporary performances. Before her busy acting schedule, she used to dance at Big Dance Studios and Nateshwar Nritya Kala Mandir.
