From Shahid To Kriti: Here’s How Bollywood Won The Red Carpet With Their Outfits

Don’t you just love dressing up and stepping out for a big Saturday night? So do your favourite B-town celebrities! This weekend was a big one for a few Bollywood biggies and TV stars… the lot walked the red carpet at the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Awards on Saturday. While they came back with shiny trophies, they also scored big time with some very fashionable snaps. Here’s the scoop on who was there and what they wore

Winner of ‘Best Reality Show Judge’, Bollywood’s very own Shilpa Shetty sizzled in an asymmetric kurta layered with a Nehru style jacket by designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil. A bit of a refreshing surprise on the Saree Queen, isn’t it?

Kriti Sanon bagged the ‘Outstanding Performance’ title, and also the show, in Shivan & Narresh’s statement saree-pants combination. I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say that fringe was drop-dead-gorgeous! Hina Khan won the ‘Best Entertainer’ title and for good reason (Bigg Boss viewers will know!). She wore a similar colour combination by Satya Paul, but her outfit was more classic than ‘statement’

Someone who’s been levelling up her style by the day, ‘Best Performance’ winner Tamannah Bhatia wowed us in an eclectic Anamika Khanna outfit. The show-stealers of the look were, of course, the fuschia pink belt, and the cape style jacket with a traditional but fun pattern. The lovely Aditi Rao Hydari went black and gold and didn’t disappoint for even a second. And we’re super psyched she won ‘Best Actress (Critics)’ for Padmaavat, too.

Jennifer Winget’s ‘tier cake’ style sleeves deserve a special mention for sure!

Guess who else was there? Hint: they’re easy on the eyes, and they’re both in the biggest hits of the season:

Yes, both Shahid Kapoor (Best Actor winner) and Kartik Aaryan were different versions of ‘Tall, dark and handsome’ in all black outfits.

Bollywood filmmaker and talk show host, Karan Johar wowed us with a pop of colour. We love the red floral patch on his monochrome look, don’t you?

It’s great to start Monday off with a balanced dose of Bollywood and style, isn’t it? *wink*
