7 Bridal Accessory Trends From 2017 That’ll Be *Huge* In 2018!

A special piece of wedding jewellery gives the perfect finishing touch to your bridal look. And for style-savvy brides, it’s a fashion-forward way to play with runway trends while still keeping up with the traditions. Need some bridal accessories inspo? From tassel jewellery to bangle kaleeras, here are some cool and unique bridal jewellery trends to watch out for this year.

1. Tassel up that mathapatti for the added bridal swag!

We know for a fact that every bride wants to incorporate a unique accessory to at least one of her bridal looks. A tassel matha patti is the best way to achieve it. This cool hippie look works great for a daytime mehendi function. Team your tassel jewellery with a cool and colourful outfit to pump up the fun factor.

2. The bigger, the better… ain’t it?

Although 2017 was mostly about minimalism, when it came to wedding jewellery, we came across this stunning bride who adorned herself with this oversized nath and we just can’t stop adoring it. The bride pulled it off with so much élan and elegance. We really hope to see more brides sporting statement naths in 2018.

3. ‘Coz Sabyasachi is the master and he knows best!

Sabyasachi is the master of everything Indian and traditional. We have already been mesmerized by his outfit designs for the longest time. We all know him as an established designer, but now the artist has come out with his bridal jewellery line, and we have to stay, we are stunned. It is crafted in 22K gold with uncut diamonds, pearls and emerald stones. What more could one ask for when looking for the perfect wedding jewellery?!

4. If you’re a pataka dulhan, why not let the world know?!

One trend that picked up a lot of pace in 2017 is personalized ‘pataka dulhan’ juttis. Once the trend took off, brides started experimenting with different kinds of footwear including loafers, juttis, sandals and a lot others, with ‘pataka dulhan’ written on it. Really cool way of showing the world that you are a bombshell bride, isn’t it?

5. Belt it up, baby…

We’ve been telling you about how lehengas with belts are all the rage. They not only make handling the dupatta much easier for the bride, but it also adds a lot of oomph to the bridal look. We are really hoping to see more brides wear their lehengas with belts in 2018!

6. A unique twist to flowers in the hair… a floral tiara!

Because just putting flowers in your hairdo is so passé! Our gorgeous Plixxo Super Blogger, Maia Sethna, got married to the love of her life recently and we just adored all her looks. Her mehendi avatar was so subtle and fresh, especially the floral tiara. You could use real flowers for the tiara or just opt for ones with artificial flowers. Anyway, Maia made for one beautiful bride.

7. Bangles or kaleeras or both in one!?

This was one beautiful kaleera trend that we spotted on a number of brides in 2017 and we hope to see a lot more in 2018. It is basically a kaleera designed with a bangle, so that the bride can just slide it on easily. It doesn’t entangle with your precious outfit, and is also super manageable.

So, these were some bridal accessories and trends we think will be huge in 2018. Any favourites?
