They’ve not only had the opportunity to showcase their exquisite collections on international platforms but have also had the opportunity to dress renowned international celebrities. Don’t you remember the internet-breaking NMACC gala? While I still await the grandeur of an NMACCA-level collaboration between Indian designers and international stars, something equally captivating caught my attention.
Manish Malhotra, the maestro of Indian fashion, recently took to Instagram to share a snapshot with none other than the iconic supermodel Naomi Campbell. The two recently attended the wedding of the Indian-origin billionaire and founder of the fashion brand PrettyLittleThing Umar Kamani and fashion model Nada Adelle. The wedding was a four-day affair and took place at the enchanting Hôtel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France.
But guess what she was wearing? A mesmerising saree-inspired ensemble by Manish Malhotra. The model gracefully donned a lavender-hued chiffon gown with an intricately embroidered bodice. However, the pièce de résistance of her attire? A sheer pallu-like trail embellished with feathers and beads.
What captivated me most was Manish’s masterful blend of traditional and contemporary elements, seamlessly channeling our rich heritage through Naomi’s outfit. Furthermore, the addition of a diamond maangtikka and earrings served as a delightful nod to the fusion of Indian and international styles. It’s moments like these that showcase the magic of cultural amalgamation in the world of fashion.
Manish also designed the bride’s and the groom’s outfits. They wore matching tonal pristine white outfits, adorned with stunning detailing.
