‘Boycott Her Films’: Trolls Call Kareena Kapoor An ‘Arrogant Snob’ After Nepotism Remark

It’s been nearly two months since Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death. And since then, people have been coming with a lot of theories on what made the young actor take the drastic step. Netizens blamed Bollywood elites for sabotaging his career and driving him to suicide. The social media trial, if you may call it, is still on and by the looks of it, it’s not going to die down anytime soon. After massively trolling Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and others, the latest target for netizens was the ‘ultimate insider’ (as she is called) Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Recently, Bebo, in an interview, weighed in on nepotism and said it is the audience that makes star kids successful. She said that she found the entire “nepotism in Bollywood” debate “weird” as the audience had the power to make or break any star. Kareena went on to ask the viewers to not watch films of star kids if they hate it so much and the clip went viral on social media. After that interview, netizens have been extensively trolling Bebo, saying that she doesn’t want the support of her fans and viewers.

The hashtag #KareenaKapoorKhan has been trending on Twitter, and the social media users have been hell-bent on boycotting her upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha, which also stars Aamir Khan. Read their reactions below:

And all this because she was asked a question and she replied, perhaps a bit tactlessly.

Well, as we all know, this isn’t the first incident when it comes to unnecessary trolling of the celebrities. KJo has been mercilessly trolled for apparently being mean to Sushant in the past and then feeling bad about his tragic death. Meanwhile, Mahesh Bhatt, his daughters Alia and Pooja Bhatt, along with wife Soni Razdan were targeted on social media for nepotism in the industry. The Raazi actress even got rape and death threats over Sushant’s death. All on the basis of speculations. Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt posted screenshots of the same on her Insta account as well.

Actors like Sonakshi Sinha and Sonam Kapoor, too, had to restrict their comments on their Instagram pages as they were being blamed for the late actor’s death.

None of us know the whole truth, so why are making judgments? As much as we’d like to know whether there was someone responsible for Sushant’s demise, we cannot go on abusing people for it. Sushant’s death compelled people to promote mental health awareness, but the irony of the situation is lost on a lot of people. The point is that everyone’s mental health matters. No one, we repeat, no one should be trolled or given rape or death threats. It’s criminal. Period!
