While the novel coronavirus might have mostly spared the entertainment industry barring a few sporadic cases, the situation seems to be getting grim now. It was on Saturday that Amitabh Bachchan tested positive for COVID-19 shorty followed by Abhishek, Aishwarya, and Aaradhya. We were only beginning to take in this information when reports of Kasautii Zindagii Kay actor Parth Samthaan also testing positive started doing rounds.
Now, after Parth Samthaan, Ishqbaaz actress Shrenu Parikh too has been tested COVID-19 positive. She took to Instagram earlier today and shared a note stating the same. “Hey everyone have been away for a while but the bugger hasn’t spared me…was found COVID positive a few days ago, and I’m now recovering in the hospital! Keep me and my family in your prayers,” the note read.
Soon after the lockdown was declared in March, Shrenu was home-quarantined in Mumbai as she had returned from the US. She has been living in Mumbai all this while and has been constantly keeping in touch with her fans through social media.
In her note, she has also thanked the frontline warriors who have been taking care of those affected by the novel virus. Shrenu wrote, “And I’m very thankful to all the corona warriors who treat the patients compassionately during these scary times too.”
“Even after being so careful if it can get to you then imagine the power of this invisible demon we are fighting with… pls pls be very careful and save yourselves!” Shrenu added in her caption and there’s indeed some food for thought here. As life in India is slowly resuming its old pace with the country opening up in phases, we cannot lose the size of the fact that the virus still persists unabated.
