Hey Sunshine! Here’s How To Wear Yellow At Your Wedding Just Like Gauahar Khan

Just last month Pantone Colour Institute signposted two shades as the reigning hues for 2021 i.e. a happy yellow and a cool grey. Needless to say that the colours are definitely going to feature in the fashion-forward brides’ wedding arsenal this year. In fact, actress Gauahar Khan has already established a pretty impressive precedent with her wedding wardrobe.

Quite interestingly, Gauahar tied the knot in the very same month that Pantone hues were announced and went all out with the colour yellow by wearing not just one or two but three separate yellow outfits, each one as distinct as the other. Rest assured, not only did Gauahar teach us multiple ways of wearing yellow but also showed us how to go all out with your favourite colour without letting it get monotonous for your wedding festivities. Just like us, totally in awe of how the actress took the sunshine route at her wedding? Here’s how you can do it too and wear as much yellow at your wedding as you please without looking boring:

Statement Prints

For her haldi function, Gauahar opted for a Maayera Jaipur vibrant lehenga and it’s the printed details that are currently on our fashion radar. Just like her, you too can opt for a little bit of jazz by selecting a printed outfit in your favourite hue. Also, we advocate prints here ‘coz they will instantly add a variety to your otherwise monotone trousseau and would help you with an overall statement appeal:

Play With The Silhouette

After prints, the easiest way to add variety to a single hue is by playing with the silhouettes. Gauahar, for instance, went for a dramatic cowl neck top for her mehendi party. You can try something on the same lines and go for some experimentation in the waist up department. From pairing your brocade lehenga with a chic blouse to going for an unconventional kurti cut, the world is your oyster here:

Take The Traditional Route

Well, traditional fits have their own appeal and they deserve a sure shot space in your pre-wedding wardrobe. You can take inspiration from Gauahar’s gota accented mehendi kurta or maybe opt for a nice Rajasthani poshak style outfit. Take your pick:

Just A Hint Of Contrast

If you look carefully, Gauahar’s haldi lehenga features a lime green dupatta and the contrast is so subtle that it can almost escape your eye at first look. We suggest that you try something similar and so for a subtle contrast in the drape department:

Pantone Party

Would be just wrong to go on discussing a pantone hue and miss out on a full-blown Pantone-inspired look. Did they say yellow and grey? You gotta check out this beauty!

Oh My Ombre

Going ombre is perhaps the most fun way of adding an element of fun to your otherwise monotone outfit. There is a certain poetic beauty about ombre details and here’s something that you are sure to love:

So beauties, all set to go the Pantone way this season?

Pssttt…don’t forget to copy Gauahar’s bridal glow while you are taking inspiration from her wedding yellows. Here’s how to get it:
