After much speculation and rumours that kept doing rounds pretty much for the entirety of 2020, the day has finally arrived when Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar would tie the knot. Yes, for real!!! In fact, we suspect that as you read this story, Gauahar is slipping into her bridal finery and while we can hardly wait to see the final look, we do have something to keep you occupied.

Mehendi Party Outfits And All That Sunshine
As apparent from most of her pre-wedding looks, Gauahar clearly has a thing for yellow. And given the variety of fits and silhouettes she has managed to ace in a single hue, we aren’t complaining either. I mean, we can write an entire story on how to wear yellow at your wedding Gauahar-style but that’s for another day. For today, let’s just take a look at her yellow mehendi party ensemble and its breathtaking details.
For their mehendi party both Gauahar and Zaid opted for complimenting Rajdeep Ranawat outfits. Custom made for the couple, these outfits actually take inspiration from the designer’s ‘Dibbia’ collection. Sticking to basics here as well, Zaid decided upon a white kurta-pajama set and a yellow, silk bandi. Well, we really do love the infusion of colour in Zaid’s outfit that makes it equal parts simple and vibrant.
That said, it’s the enviable details of Gauhar’s outfits that ask for a closer look here. From the printed skirt to the statement top, every single detail here is to marvel at and die for. The abstract printed, tye-dye lehenga though has to be the star of this look. We love how the bandhani style print on the lehenga has been further enhanced with glass beads and Swarovski crystals thus giving it an exquisite finish. It also features an embellished belt that has been left loose at the end to tie a knot.
Now while we might have had our reservations about the cowl neck top had it been for us, on Gauahar it looks like a 10/10 pairing and that’s all that matters, right? The top has been embellished with a smattering of mirror handwork and one can only imagine how it must have sparkled with each one of the bride-to-be’s movements!
But wait, the colour yellow is not the only thing that this bride to be is pretty fixated to. She also seems to be having a serious case of floral love and her Puneet Gupta jewellery is proof enough. Here take a look at her glorious floral jewellery:

Gharara, Gharara, Gauahar ka Gharara!
A Muslim bride sans any traditional gharara outfit at her wedding, that sounds pretty incomplete, right? Well, given Gauahar’s love for perfection, we knew that it was highly unlikely to happen and guess what, she did end up wearing a gorgeous teal gharara set for her wedding eve festivities. Embellished with pink resham work and gota patti details, the Mayyur Girotra ensemble really did win our hearts for its traditional appeal and also for providing a welcome respite from the slew of yellows that Gauahar has been dining all this while. Also don’t miss out on the matha patti pairing and the OTT choker. Quite a look, if you ask us!
Very much sticking to the coordinating spirit Zaid too opted for a teal kurta-jacket set featuring pink accents on it.
Gauahar’s sister Nigar was also seen at the party, wearing an ivory and maroon velvet lehenga set.
