The BEST Ways To Prevent A Breakout Just Before Your Shaadi!

It’s natural for anxiety to kick in when you have only a week left for your wedding. And we all are aware that all the wedding stress and lack of sleep can take a toll on your skin. Ladies, you know what happens next, right? Acne incoming! So, just to make sure that you look flawless and stunning as a bride, we give you 10 effective ways to prevent a breakout before your wedding.

1. No More Exfoliating For You!

This may go against your skincare routine, but we request you to stay away from exfoliating your skin when you only have a week to go for your wedding. Exfoliating too much can be harsh on your skin leaving it with a nasty rash. Instead, opt for mild cleanser that’s gentle on your skin. This will not only clean all the dust and grime from the pores of your skin, but will also make it look healthy and feel baby soft.

2. Ditch The Makeup

For the week leading up to the wedding, don’t apply makeup on your face. Allow your skin to breath before you apply any product to it. Remember, the aim is to have clear and plump skin. For that to happen, you must take proper care. Going natural is the best way to make your skin look gorgeous on the wedding day. Even if you apply minimal makeup, use a natural cleanser like coconut oil to wipe the makeup off.

3. Can’t Keep Your Hands To Yourself?

One of the biggest reasons a zit pops up is because of you touching your face continously. Look at it this way, your fingers are a breathing field for bacteria and touching your face with your fingers only spreads the bacteria there. This irritates your skin and leads to acne. Even if you’re tempted to pop the zit, do NOT do it! Leave it to your makeup artist to figure out how to conceal it.

4. Stay Away From The Sun

For this one week, try not to get out of the house too often. You see, the sun isn’t your best friend. Its rays causes irritation and damages the skin by giving rise to breakouts. And if you must step out at the time, be sure to cover up your skin – wear a hat and apply a generous amount of SPF.

5. Hydrating Is The Goal

Drink lots of water and your skin will look flawless and supple on wedding day. Water is known to flush toxins away and gives your skin a clear and smooth finish. You can also swap your favourite mug of coffee with green tea as it helps give you a glowing complexion. Bored of plain water? You can add a few slices of lemon to give it that citrus flavour – whatever floats your boat.

6. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

Dear bride, you must know that when the skin is dry, your skin overproduces oil. Hence, it’s very important to moisturize. Once in the morning and once at night, you must remember to moisturize your skin. Making this a regular habit will prevent your skin from breaking out and hydrate it at the same time. We bet you’re going to look fantastic on your big day.

7. Don’t Forget That Toner

The toner has only one aim and that’s to remove excess oil and dirt from your skin! You’ll love it because it’s gentler on your skin and cleanses skin pores so that they can breath with ease. Just before you go to sleep, apply a toner. You’ll notice that your skin looks clearer and fresher the next morning.

8. What’s On Your Plate?

Sure that fried pakora tastes divine, but it is doing your skin more harm than good! Any food that contains sugar, oil and fat can build up excess oil and sugar in your system – this triggers acne. The best way to tackle this is by eating clean and healthy. Boiled veggies, white meat, sprouts, salads and fruits that are rich in nutrients, vitamins and minerals should be on your plate!

9. Workout Like A Rockstar!

Want to beat the stress in the most healthy way possible? EXERCISE! Even if you have a week left for D-day, it’s never too late to work that body. When you exercise, you sweat, and sweating it out releasing toxins from the body and gives the skin a healthy glow! Flushing out toxins and unwanted salts like a pro, it reduces the chances any breakouts.

10. Chill Out, Babe

Stress is the most common cause of breakouts. When stressed, your body sends your hormones into overdrive, leading to excessive oil production – resulting in acne. So ladies, here’s our question – why stress out when you can take a chill pill and relax? A happy you, ensures that you have happy skin too! Smile and laugh more often, because lady, you are going to start a new chapter of your life in a week’s time. Good luck!
