#BandBaajaBaarat: How to Get Noticed at a Friend’s Wedding!

  |  May 6, 2016

Weddings are fabulous. Especially if it’s a friend’s wedding. The singing and dancing, the festivities, the decor and the food…and not to forget a chance to rock! If you are single then weddings are also the perfect opportunity to meet nice men. The festive atmosphere is the perfect ice breaker. Here is what you need to do to make the most of a friend’s shaadi!

1. Dress up!

We are talking bright colours, cuts that flatter. Spend time planning your outfits, get your hair done or put up. Enjoy getting ready.

2. Don’t be too shy to dance

C’mon – it’s a wedding. Get dancing already. Obviously, leave your super sexy moves for the night club. Get familiar with the latest Bollywood numbers and the shaadi classics and dance away. If asked, dance in the sangeet. The dance practices are the perfect opportunity to get to know the cute cousin.

3. Drink up…

We are talking one or two. Drunk at a wedding is not a good look. Pass the drinks around.

4. Remember to smile!

Everyone likes to have a bubbly, friendly face around. At weddings especially.

5. Be friendly

Talk to people. Don’t just stick to your friend – the bride or groom’s side. Walk up to the other party and say hello. Friendships work at hyper-speed at weddings as you get to spend a lot of time with the same group of people over a few days. And it’s perfectly okay to tag the cute boy in a FB photo or Insta.

6. Be helpful

It’s a shaadi after all. Ask the mother or mausi of the bride if she needs help. Channel SRK in DDLJ.

7. Have fun!

Everyone likes to be around people who are having a ball. Take lots of photos. Be goofy.

8. Flirt a little…

In a friendly kinda way. Think of Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
