Hailey Bieber’s Glazed-Donut Skin Is All ‘Coz Of This Smoothie

The internet is a behemoth that doesn’t sleep — and it is well-endowed with DIYers who’ve managed to recreate Hailey Bieber’s glazed-skin smoothie. Now — while Hailey’s skincare, Rhode, isn’t available in India, this is a recipe that Hailey swears by to maintain the health and appearance of her skin. And, hey, it costs close to nothing and has health benefits too.

The smoothie’s ingredients were unveiled on Instagram thanks to a collaboration between Erewhon Market and Hailey Bieber — with their recipe featuring strawberries, dates, and avocados galore. The internet has found that sea-moss gel as well as (ingestible) Hyaluronic Acid, two components of the smoothie, are elusive for the most part; but you can do away with these ingredients. Some protein/collagen powders contain Hyaluronic Acid — so you can reap the benefits of this glow-inducing ingredient anyway. Many have reinterpreted the smoothie according to their palates — some have substituted strawberries with raspberries and bananas. Here’s how you can replicate the smoothie at home.

Here’s everything you’re going to need:

Here’s how you can prepare the skin-smoothening smoothie at home:

For the glaze: Mash a cup of strawberries in a bowl. Set it aside, and combine a cup of sugar with three tablespoons of cornstarch in a saucepan. Add a few drops of (red) food colouring (optional). Bring the mix to a boil before turning off the heat, and transfer it to a bowl. Let it cool for 10 minutes. Add the strawberries to the mix — if they’re not smooth or mashed enough, you can blend them to achieve a more liquid-like consistency.

For the smoothie: Combine the strawberries, dates, syrup, avocadoes, peptides, and milk in a blender, and blend the ingredients together until they’re smooth. Add a little bit of glaze and (coconut) cream to the bottom and sides of a glass or jar before pouring the smoothie in.

And that’s it! Not too heavy on the pockets, then, is it?
