#DIY: Make Your Own Fabulous Roman Sandals in 5 Minutes!

POPxo Team  |  May 6, 2016

Today we’re going to show you how you can use an old scarf to turn your simple, everyday chappals into something super-cool and awesome. Here’s how you make your very own DIY Roman sandals!

What you need

Here’s what you have to do

Step 1: Take the scarf and cut out a strip from it that’s about 3 to 4 inches wide.

Step 2: Hold both ends of the strip and twirl it. That should make it slimmer and easier to work with.

Step 3: Pass the strip through the straps of the chappal and make a loop (approximately at the middle of the strip) at the join of the straps at the front of the slipper. Now pass one end of the strip through the loop, making an overhand knot. This is the most important part of the process.

Step 4: Start wrapping the two ends of the strip around the straps of the slippers. Make sure you do this neatly so that the straps are covered completely.

Step 5: When you’re done, slip your foot into the sandal and tie the loose ends of the strip around your ankle. And that’s it!

Step 6: To add a little more fun to your look, you could tie a little bow at the end – and there you are!
