Today we show you how to make a donut bun using just a pair of socks! (And some basics you’ll definitely have on your dressing table.) The best part about this easy-peasy and super-cute style is that it works for hair of any texture.
What you need
- A pair of socks
- A hairbrush
- A pair of scissors
- A couple of black hair ties
- Some bobby pins
- A can of hair spray
And here’s how you do it
Step 1: Begin by cutting off the toe of the sock. (Make sure you’ve chosen a pair closest to your hair colour.)
Step 2: Now take the sock and roll it tightly into a donut. If you have thicker and longer hair, you can use more than one sock for the donut.
Step 3: Brush out your hair to get rid of tangles and knots.
Step 4: Gather all your hair and tie it into a tight ponytail using a black hair tie. Ideally, make it a high ponytail.
Step 5: Once you’ve fixed your ponytail, take the sock donut and fit it around your hair tie neatly.
Step 6: Now spread your hair evenly over the donut. Place a smaller hair tie around it to secure it and make it into a bun.
Step 7: Gather all the extra hair and divide it into two parts. Twirl each part and wrap it around the bun. Secure it with bobby pins.
Step 8: Use a hair spray for better hold and to make your bun stay fast longer. But make sure you don’t spray too much of it, or it’s going to take a long time to come off.
Step 9: Add a pretty hair pin or accessory to dress it up!
Tadaa! Your sock donut bun is ready.
