Carrot Seed Essential Oil Can Actually Reverse Early Signs Of Ageing & Here’s How

In your typical 15-minute skincare routine, you are often using products that can halt the signs of ageing before they even appear. In fact, we start worrying about this skin concern in our early 20s and hit the panic button (or run to the dermatologist).

How does one defy the process of ageing like a total queen? It’s a classic question asked by most of us. But it’s never just about a particular product or an ingredient that will do the job. Mostly, it’s an amalgamation of a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, DIYs and following a good skincare regime.

Having said that, there are numerous approaches to dealing with signs of ageing. From high-end luxury creams, serums, and elixirs to sheet masks, sunscreens and much more, we are constantly in search of the eternal fountain of youthfulness. One such ingredient that offers a wide array of benefits is carrot seed essential oil. Carrot, what? What’s that? Why have we not heard of this in the past? You’re not the only one clueless; we’ve realised that it’s a unique ingredient in that department and not many are aware of it.

What Is Carrot Seed Essential Oil?

Before you get confused, let us explain it to you in simple terms. Carrot seed essential oil is produced by distilling seeds of the wild carrot plant (daucus carota sativa). Carotene sesquiterpenes carotol is an occurring bioflavonoid that aims to be a powerful antioxidant. It’s advised to not use it directly on the face. However, it must be diluted with a carrier oil of your choice.

While carrot seed oil is extracted from the seeds of wild carrot plants, natively known as daucus carota. This seed oil has several useful compounds and vitamins that make it beneficial for your skin. FYI, this oil was famously used by ancient Roman, Greek and Egyptian civilisations to soothe inflamed skin.

And, carrot oil is very different from the other two. Carrot root extract, traditionally known as daucus carota sativa, is produced by extracting the orange root of the carrot plant. The natural oils are cold-pressed from the fibrous sections of the plant.

Get Younger-Looking Skin

To make a clay face mask that refreshes, rejuvenates, and protects the skin from damage, mix 1 teaspoon of multani mitti (fuller’s earth), 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel, and 2 drops of carrot seed essential oil in a small bowl. Mix it well until smooth. Then, apply the mask to the face with a face mask brush, avoiding the eye area.

Scrub Away The Dead Skin Cells

Carrot seed essential oil is an excellent addition to a natural face exfoliator that not only removes dead skin cells but also cleans pores. Pour 2 tbsp. coconut oil and 2 tsp honey first. Add 4 tbsp. organic coffee grounds to this, then blend everything together. Add 8 drops carrot seed essential oil and 6 drops tea tree essential oil to this mixture.

Sun Protection On The Go

If your skin is missing the much-needed TLC in this scorching heat, try this face oil, which you can prepare at home and apply before you step outdoors. To protect your skin from sun damage and harmful UV rays, combine a small amount of carrot seed oil with a few drops of sesame oil and apply it to your skin. If your skin is greasy, however, avoid using carrot and sesame oils as sunscreen.
