Those who have watched Arshi Khan in Bigg Boss know that she is the undisputed queen of her own damn world. Well, as it turns out the ever so desi, the ever so original Arshi too sometimes gets “inspired” and when she does the inspiration is no less than Lady Gaga. The case in point being a voluminous gold dress that she recently wore for the Bigg Boss 14 after-party.
The Instagram fashion watchdog Diet Sabya recently observed an uncanny similarity between Arshi’s BB after-party dress and Lady Gaga’s outfit for 2020 MTV VMAs. Well, it isn’t hard to tell that Arshi’s dress is in fact an out-and-out copy of the futuristic silver dress worn by Lady Gaga.
But that’s not it. Not only is this a rip-off but quite a half-assed one for that. The outfit has been designed by designer Akanksha Sadh Bali. Can someone please tell her that changing the colour while copying a statement silhouette still counts as copying? Also, for someone who’s confident enough to copy an exaggerated detail from a high fashion brand, you’d expect at least precision in size, right? The fit is as bad as it gets and looks like the costume was made just for some cheap thrills. And then it caught Arshi’s attention, and voila we have a disaster!
The finish has been nicely compromised as well. Seriously, why was this dress even created in the first place? Well, the netizens are losing it equally bad since the discovery and here’s what some of them have to say:
That said plagiarism in fashion is not at all a new phenomenon. It’s just that we are currently living in the digital age and nothing escapes the eyes of social media. We’d feel bad for Arshi but not too sure if she is exactly unhappy with the current situation. As they say, no publicity is bad publicity. Well, we gotta give it to Arshi Khan for managing to stay in the limelight even after Bigg Boss is over.
