Their friends were sure they’d fall in love. And they did!
Rucha Vyas and Varun Sarda’s friends felt that the two were perfect for each other. And they did what all good friends do: “They made sure that both of us were present at every gathering and made it a point to leave us alone,” shares the pretty bride. “And it was true. We are indeed perfect for each other. We got talking and, before I knew it, it was love.”
After 3 months of dating, work came calling and Rucha, who’s a doctor, had to move cities. After two years of dating long distance, they finally tied the knot on January 17 this year!
We love the gold and coral gown Rucha chose for her sangeet ceremony. Her makeup was done by Sharad Bhuyar.
Groom-to-be, Varun surprised his lady love with the cutest performance on Mujhse Shaadi Karogi on the sangeet!
Band baaja baraat!
Rucha is a Maharashtrian while Varun is a Marwari, and the couple had a fun-filled Marwari Maharashtrian wedding at Pench National Park! “I didn’t have to worry much about the wedding prep since my mum-in-law offered to plan it all,” shares the grinning bride.
Rucha looks resplendent in her reception outfit. We love the stunning jewellery that she put together from various stores in Jaipur.
That mandap just made us go ‘wow’! It was lit up with fairy lights in the night and we can only just imagine the sight!
In the Maharashtrian wedding tradition, the bride is required to perform a Gauri pooja just before the varmala. After the pooja is over, the groom comes to proclaim his love and take away his bride. “That was one of my most cherished memories from the wedding,” she shares.
