Dull and lacklustre skin is a pretty common after-quarantine effect and it does have quite a big impact on one’s self-confidence. Even though we have been at home for the past few months, yet some have lost their skin’s radiance even without stepping out of the house or dealing with the outside pollutants. If this problem is all too real for you, don’t worry, you’re not alone.

Many are facing the problem of ‘meh’ skin, and the main culprits to be blamed are stress, which results in lack of sleep, too much screen time and blue light, which causes hyperpigmentation and breakdown of collagen in the skin. *Yes, the constant light from your computer screen and phone can wreak havoc on your skin too. *

And while we have a face mask to cover up the dullness while stepping out of the house, for many who are working from home, it’s the video call meetings that are a total nightmare. After all, we’ve all been there--- looking at our own skin, wishing that there was some type of filter to hide the pigmentation and dark circles.

While getting back the lustre will take a bit of time and a very strict skincare regimen, there is a quick fix way to make your skin look radiant during your next video call. Intrigued? Then, keep on reading to know more.

5 Steps To Cheat Your Way To Radiant Skin

The next time you have a video call, follow these steps to look your best on-screen.

Massage Your Face

Massage Your Face

Massaging your face for at least 2 minutes helps stimulate the blood circulation and oxygen while reducing any puffiness. It also increases collagen and makes the skin look plump while giving you a bit of a facelift. All you need to do is add a bit of face oil to your fingers and start massaging your face from the jawline, slowly moving up to the cheeks in circular movements. For your forehead, make small circular movements, starting between the eyebrows, and moving towards the temples. For the under-eye area, lightly tap the skin underneath the inner eye, working your way outwards toward the temples.

Exfoliate Your Skin

Exfoliate Your Skin

Once you’re done with your full-face massage, move on to exfoliation. This will get rid of any dirt, dead skin cells, oil, bacteria and other pollutants which have settled on the epidermis, leaving you with brighter, radiant, glowing skin.

Concealer

After massaging, cleansing and exfoliating, to hide your dark circles, add a bit of concealer under your eyes. If your undereye area is too dark, go ahead and use a colour corrector first to create the illusion of a good night’s sleep. Keep it light as your goal here is to create a #IWokeUpThisWay look.

Lightweight Foundation

Lightweight Foundation

Instead of using a matte foundation to even out your skin tone, opt for a hydrating formula which will reflect light and give you glowing skin on camera. It’s best to use minimal foundation to achieve that natural luminous finish without looking fake.

Blush & Lipgloss

Blush & Lipgloss

And last but not least, a bit of blush and lipgloss is all you need. When it comes to your blush, opt for a creamy formula to add a pop of colour to your cheek and effortlessly fake the flush. Just smile, dab a bit on the apples of your cheeks and you’ll instantly look like you just saw your crush.

If you have pigmented lips, use a lipgloss that has a pink tint. This will even out the colour and leave you looking fresh and glowing.

Boost your confidence during your next video call by following these steps.
