It’s not every day that your hair behaves itself. It’s not every day that your hair looks ultra fabulous + 1000 times amazing either. So when our favourite hair styler and drama queen of a product (the products are known for the extra-extra-extra drama) TIGI Bedhead came to meet The POPxo Blog Network, there were hairworks (sorry, we took a little poetic license on the word “fireworks”, plus we totally made up that word).
Fabulous hair, fantabulous desserts from yummy multi-coloured macaroons that vied for equal photo opportunity with the TIGI Bedhead products to champagne over cupcakes and lots of gossip over hair styling – that was how Lakme Fashion Week went by for our bloggers.
As they readied themselves for the Pakistani show at LFW featuring three exceptional Pakistani designers – Rizwan Beyg, Sania Maskatiya and Zahra Shahjahan – at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter Festive 2014 on 20th August, our bloggers had TIGI Bedhead stylists giving their hair some exquisite, super-glam front-row-ready looks. The day was definitely eventful and magical – there was so much positive energy and so much beauty and lots of creativity!
We just thought you might love a re-cap of the way the happenings unfolded – complete with selfies, big hair and lots of gossip that can only be part of a hairstyling studio. (Ah, didn’t we tell you? TIGI Bedhead had a makeshift pop up studio on the 25th floor of the Palldium Hotel!).
The Undomestic (and Super Glamorous) Goddess: Kavya D’Souza of Streak Hue Fall
She worked her big hair to perfection with her multiple neckpieces, a maxi skirt with a thigh-high slit and that really cute crop top. The big bad ponytail she sported was just out-of-the-world and matched up beautifully with her brick red lips. Hair inspiration: Dylan Lex – now isn’t that amazing?! Read her experience here.
Fun, Fabulous and Seeking Some Awesome Style: Snehal Fernandes of Style Seekers
Her hair was so very 70s glam: lots of curls and a side-sweep. Ah, old Hollywood glamour is still alive, and no one rocked it like Snehal! Her orange lips matched up beautifully with her peach track pants and her fun green heels. Glamour must look like this – not over-the-top, just right!
Chirpy and Full of Chutzpah: Aanam Chashmawala of What When Wear
What would a girl with straight hair wish if a hair genie granted her a hair wish? Get curls!!! That’s exactly what Aanam did. She got just-got-out-of-bed-curls that also doubled up as beachy-glam ( yes, that’s possible) by the fab stylists at TIGI Bedhead. Her lip-print shirt (from her own e-comm site What When Wear) paired with MAC Ruby Woo lips had us saying “Ahhh, we want more!”
Made for Glam Rock Princess and All-Time Fashionista: Anushka Hajela of Bombay Bubble
She’s daring and knows her hair so well she could rock any look any time – Anushka Hajela is, after all, a hair stylist’s delight. Fashion and beauty is all about being brave and trying new ideas, and Anushka rocked the side-parted hair look with waves at the very end – oh-so-old-school and so very retro – and it went swimmingly well with her fab leather jacket. Guess some women nail it all!
Parisian Style in Good Old Mumbai: Rhea Gupte of FUSS
Rhea knows how French style really works. So she went right ahead and maxed out her hair into a neat bun and kept her bangs fresh. The retro hairstyle suited her look – plaid jacket, leather shorts and lace and more lace. And that big bun just made her look like a Hollywood star looking to catch her next flight to the Riviera. So very romantic, yet so glam.
And then we had some great food, fun and fabulousness to carry over to the other side. We thank TIGI Bedhead and the POPxo Blog Network members for making this association a memorable one. Cheers to dramatic hair!
P.S.: We’ll always be in love with prettily packaged products that pack a punch (was that a tongue-twister?). Let’s not forget the ones that come with crazy names and crazier ideas!
