It's amazing how fashion can reveal your inner workings, your dreams and your personality in ways that you never can express in words. That's why we look to our favourite blogs for inspiration - not just for mere clothes and blink-and-it-goes-away trends, but also for fabulous dreams, great personalities and beautiful ideas. Nilu Yuleena Thapa of Big Hair Loud Mouth is one such blog that fills us with joy.
There are fashionable ideas tailored to fit regular girls like you and me and fun ways to decide looks that will showcase your real personality. Her fab blog pulls references from her own travels and her experiences - all of them talking about outfits and styling in a new way. There are also amazing beauty posts and all of the glitz from the stylish dos she attends. What's surprising is the fact that Nilu is an engineer by education and a Fashion Editor at Obsessory by profession, and now she's a popular Indian fashion blogger - one girl, many worlds. And as she joins the prestigious POPxo Blog Network, we quiz her on a few fashionable ideas...
I have always experimented with different trends. The fact is that trying something different always excites me and makes me feel good. I don’t want my style to be monotonous because fashion is always evolving. Hence I feel versatility is the key to being fashionable.
Getting a bulk shipment of cosmetics from US that included my coveted NAKED palette from Urban Decay (for beauty) and my beloved Clarisonic Mia (great for exfoliation). With regard to a fashion memory, I’d say I once used safety pins as earrings back in 2003, when I was trying the androgynous trend, only to see Miley Cyrus sporting something similar a couple of weeks ago. I just feel that trends revolve. Things in trend now will again be trending in a couple of years.
I’m an avid lover of all things bright and beautiful. I love bold colours and prints. I feel that adding colour to one's outfit makes one feel alive! So, for my personal style statement, you will always see me wearing bold prints or bright colours. That to me is a timeless trend and something I feel comfortable in.
It was just about expressing my personal style to everyone. I feel everyone has a lifetime they can use to make the best of themselves and I thought, well, since I love dressing up why not make an online diary out of my OOTD/ OOTN!
Be yourself! This mantra has been in my head since I started blogging. We don’t want to be a mix of the things people have seen and done already. People want variety and something new and all of us have it in us to experiment and invent something new. Being bloggers, we have the power to express ourselves through our blogs! I’d say don’t hesitate to make posts that resonate with who you are as a person - I’ve come to realize that these unexpected, unpretentious posts are what people actually relate to.
