SC Orders CBI Probe Into Sushant Singh’s Death, Fans Believe He’ll Finally Get Justice

It’s been over two months since we lost the talented actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and with each passing day, the demand for transferring his death case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was only growing stronger. And earlier today, the Supreme Court finally ordered a CBI probe into the tragic death of the actor. Rejecting Rhea Chakraborty’s petition to transfer the investigation from Patna to Mumbai, the apex court ordered the Maharashtra police to assist the agency in every way possible.

The transfer petition filed by Rhea was opposed in the court by the Bihar government and Sushant’s father KK Singh. The actress had alleged that the actor’s father had used his ‘influence’ to register the FIR and that it should be considered as Zero FIR (an FIR registered in any police station irrespective of the jurisdiction). However, the court decided otherwise.

Key Points From SC Verdict On The Case

– A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy asked the Mumbai police to hand over all the evidence collected so far to the CBI.

– The court also said that the FIR filed in Patna by Sushant’s father was correct, adding that the Bihar government had the right to refer the case to CBI.

– The SC said that no state police will interfere with the death case of the actor. The central probe agency will be the sole authority to investigate it, the apex court added.

– The court also observed that since Mumbai police had registered only an accidental death report, it had limited investigation powers.

– Any other FIR registered in connection with the SSR case will also be investigated by the CBI.
