Parth Samthaan aka Anurag Basu from Kasauti Zingagii Kay decided to call it quits last week. The actor resumed shooting for the show after recovering from COVID-19 a while ago. Ever since his resignation from the show, the makers have been on the lookout for the new Anurag Basu.
“Parth wants to now direct his attention towards his health and the other projects he is in talks with. Ekta Kapoor has been trying to persuade Parth into retainment but the actor has expressed his wish to opt-out. The production, in the meantime, has already started to consider actors to step in Parth’s shoes but are finding it difficult,” a source had earlier told a leading entertainment portal.
According to media reports, the makers are considering three actors so far. “Production might consider Barun Sobti, Pearl V Puri or Vivek Dahiya among others to step in Parth’s shoes. All the mentioned actors are young and with Anurag’s character taking a full swing after a point in the story, production is still mulling over their options,” a source close to makers revealed to an entertainment portal.
While everything is still under discussion, we can’t wait to see who is going to be the new Anurag Basu. The show has been doing extremely well and has recently introduced Karan Patel as the new Mr Bajaj.
However, with multiple rumours floating around the main cast wanting to quit the show, the TRPs of the show has been getting affected. After Parth, there were rumours about Erica Fernandez aka Prerna also quitting the show. However, while talking to a popular daily, she denied these rumours and said, “I am still a part of the show.”
What will happen to Kasauti Zindagii Kay if the main start cast decides to move on? My answer: Nothing. Because replacing an actor and bringing in a new one to play the same role isn’t something new, right? Well, my mom tells me three actors played the role of Mihir Virani in Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Now, how will she replace Anurag? Generation-leap may be. Or she will probably kill him and then bring him back from the dead? Easy peasy, leave it to the TV czarina! She will find a way because bizarre plot twists are nothing new for her.
