"Time is the substance from which I am born, time is the river which carries me along, but I am the river..."
Disha Patani's thoughts (read Instagram bio) may be complex but her 35.5 million followers get her just right, including us. The 2015 debutant is six movies old but it's safe to say that the Malang actress has firmly established her place in the Bollywood industry. In a short time, she’s become famous for her grounded personality, fit body, and sultry dance moves. But of course, you remember Do You Love Me! Not to mention her girl-next-door yet polished style. So, on the happy occasion of Disha's 28th birthday, here’s a quick look at some of our favourite Disha Patani looks that are effortless to recreate!
Disha's style, I think, is a reflection of her Zodiac sign - Gemini. Always in two minds, but one-of-a-kind, Geminis are the stars in every story and that reflects in their dressing sense too. They like outfits that charm and show off their best features. Well, that pretty much answers why Disha Patani is almost always seen in shorts! So, here you go. P.S. it's the hardest thing I've done all week to pick my top 10 Disha OOTDs. They're all so chic it's not even funny!
Why go for a cropped top when you can have an even cropped one to enjoy summer in style? That with frayed denim micro shorts is a match made in fashion heaven. Exhibit A: Disha^
Want to make a head-turning statement in whatever's left of summer 2020? Take cues from Disha and include some bright bra tops in your wardrobe. We like how Disha's taking her quarantine fashion game up with paperbag shorts and a plaid shirt here.
Disha Patani's white and blue printed dress with cute ruffle trims and a tie-up back design is exactly what I need to feel alive again and I bet you do too! Pro tip: a dash of highlighter and minimal accessories will definitely get you there, dress or no dress. Let the 5 pm sunset take care of the rest!
And it's Bandra, Mumbai. Man, she's a human hour-glass! This extremely square-neck bodycon dress is goals (read the new LBD). Not for the faint heart, this little red number sure can faint a few hearts though.
This look is proof that leg days are so freaking worth it! With sky blue denim hot pants and a white blouse with statement sleeves, this OOTD is as easy to recreate as spelling out Disha.
The blue jeans and white shirt combination is anything but basic. Disha is living proof. With a simple bodysuit (but make it lacey), everyday jeans, and long black boots--the look screams Mumbai chic. We love its ease.
When in doubt, slip into a printed dress, top it off with white sneakers, and you're ready to roll. Just look at Disha hiking in a strappy tie-dye dress to convince yourself.
This vacay look of Disha combines my two favourite colours--pink and yellow-so naturally, it had to make it to the list. But more than the cute top and printed palazzo combination, I am drawn to the fact that she completed the look with comfy sneakers without giving a damn about whether or not they go with the outfit--something that all of us do on vacations that involve a lot of walking.
I'm sure by now you're convinced that Disha loves her shorts. This ensemble with black denim shorts and a figure-flattering high-neck top in olive green looks sharp AF on her. Here's a trick to do casual fashion without really keeping it casual, ladies.
I long for the day when lockdown will finally end when things begin to get back to normal so I can recreate this look and step out in style. All that this matching trousers and jacket set needed was a basic white top to realise its full potential. Gotta say - basics are the one true bae.
Happy Birthday, Disha Patani! Twenty-eight doesn't look better than this!
