#VideoOfTheDay: I Finally Know How To Get Kylie’s Coral Makeup Just Right!

Desi Perkins has been one of the few YouTubers I started watching ardently when I was learning to do my makeup. I loved her take on all makeup looks and the fact that she explained why she made a particular move in her tutorials. I still watch her on and off, especially when there is a makeup look I am lusting after. Speaking of which, since the time I’ve laid eyes on Kylie Jenner’s summer makeup collection and her look for the campaign, I can’t get my eyes off her bright coral eye makeup look. It was an orange sunrise cut-crease look, done entirely from her summer collection eyeshadow palette. 

Desi, of course, used the palette, but she also used a hoard of other new launches to get the look right. Also, she didn’t set out to do this look. She was just testing the makeup out!

Though her videos are sometimes long, I love her chit chat type of tutorials because she does give out a lot of hacks, tips and product dupes during the course of the tutorial. She talks about her favourite products and why she likes them and sometimes ends up trying products that she hasn’t used in a while. Here she says that if you’d like to cut a sharper crease with eyeshadow, you should dampen a flat dense eyeshadow brush before putting in your pigment. This gives you more control over application!

Finally I have a milder, but still super haute version of Kylie’s look that I can’t wait to try!
