Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding was one of the biggest highlights of 2018. The duo tied the knot in a two-day long intimate ceremony at Lake Como, Italy, and broke the internet with their loved-up pictures. We all must have double-tapped on them at least 50 times before finally getting over them. Some of us (read me) still haven't though. That's how I realised what made Deepika's saree from today so special.
DeepVeer celebrated their first wedding anniversary today with the whole Padukone and Bhavnani clan by their side. They visited the Tirupati temple early in the day and looked like they stepped straight from a shaadi ka mandap to the mandir.
Ranveer wore a beige kurta and churidar with a gold embroidered Nehru jacket and accessorised it with a bright red dupatta, man hoops and retro sunnies. How very Ranveer! Deepika, on the other hand, looked breathtaking in a red and gold Benarasi saree and completed the look with traditional gold jewellery. Both of them were wearing Sabyasachi for this occasion too!
But this ain't your average Sabyasachi saree. DP wore the same saree gifted to her by Ranveer's parents as a wedding present. Look at their wedding photo and Deepika holding a bridal joda in her hands in it:
It's the same saree! And that is what makes her OOTD so special. It's so sweet of her to save the saree for their first wedding anniversary, isn't it?!
According to reports, Deepika and Ranveer along with their families are headed to Balaji Temple and Golden Temple (Amritsar) next to seek blessings as they complete their first year of marriage. We can't wait to see the rest of the pictures from their trip!
