#LiveLoveLaugh: Deepika Padukone Launches The First-Ever Lecture Series On Mental Health

It was in 2015 when Deepika Padukone first opened up about her struggle with anxiety and depression and since then the actress has been working on spreading awareness about mental health and reducing the stigma attached to it. She has been doing it for four years now through The Live Love Laugh Foundation. Now the Padmaavat actress has launched her first lecture series on mental health.

The first lecture that is part of a series was held in Delhi on Sunday and was attended by her father Prakash Padukone, mother Ujala Padukone and sister Anisha among other dignitaries like vetran actress Sharmila Tagore and award-winning author Siddhartha Mukherjee. “It’s been four years to Live Love Laugh Foundation and today we launched our first lecture series and I think we have come a long way," she said at the launch.

Emphasising on the need to speak up about the issue, Deepika said, “I think the conversation has really opened up and there is less stigma (about mental health) then there used to be four years ago, but certainly we have a long way to go in terms of awareness and that’s why we really need to keep the conversation alive.”

Deepika also expressed her gratitude towards the media for playing a vital role in the ‘conversation about mental health’. “I think the media has a huge role to play in that. Especially by opening up the conversation in various ways, whether through interviews, write-ups or articles,” said the 33-year-old.

Deepika also shared a few pictures from the event on her Instagram handle. The actress charmed her fans in an all-white ensemble. She sported a white shirt with dramatic sleeves and pointed collar and paired it with relaxed bottom pants. She completed the look with simple eye makeup, a red pout, and gorgeous shimmery danglers. Deepika definitely looks like a style icon, doesn't she?
