Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, who just celebrated their first marriage anniversary, have been giving us #couplegoals for a long time now. Whether it was their dreamy Tuscan wedding, their adorable Insta captions as man and wife, or their endearing shaadi video which went completely viral, it’s all heart-warming.
Recently while promoting her upcoming film Zero, Anushka opened her marriage in an interview. She emphasised on how important both their careers are and said, “Today, women have children, they go out to do their jobs and come home. Work is part of life and so is marriage and you have to enjoy both. You can’t live in fear, I don’t and I have always done what I wanted to do.”

She even addressed the constant pregnancy rumours saying that the concept is pretty regressive. The Band Baja Baraat actor said, “Just because you are married, it doesn’t’ mean that the next step is to go the family way.” She even added that pregnancy wasn’t something that could be kept under the wraps for four months (that’s when the gossip first began).
I think it’s incredible that actors these days aren’t following age-old patterns of how a woman is not offered the lead role in films once she ties the knot or that a couple must have children as soon as they get married. It’s each person’s choice of family, career or both. We love you Anushka and Virat, keep being badasses!
