Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin Khan became popular household names in 2016 when they joined Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as leading actors. After five years, they have finally decided to begin a new chapter in their professional lives and bid adieu to the show.
The series is all set to take a leap and the two did not wish to play older roles. While their fans were teary-eyed after learning about their departure, they have another reason to get excited. A recent promo has introduced the new star cast of the show and it looks pretty dramatic. Take a look:
Karishma Sawant will play the role of Aarohi and Pranali Rathod will play her half-sister, Akshara. For the unversed, the former is Sirat and Kartik’s (played by Shivangi and Mohsin) daughter while the latter is Kartik and Naira’s daughter. Also, Harshad Chopra will play the male lead, the character of Abhimanyu.
It seems that the new plot is heading towards an intense love triangle and we aren’t sure how we feel about it. Sisters secretly being jealous of each other and sabotaging their love lives is quite a regressive concept and TBH, we’re so bored of it. Also, the promo gave us the impression that we’re going to watch too many unnecessary sacrifices and heartbreaks over the months.
We sincerely hope that the new plot is not just about entitled and has something more to offer than a regular love triangle. We’re keeping our fingers crossed and hoping to see amazing performances by the new cast.
