All cinema is inspired by something. But sometimes the inspiration can look a lot like a shabby copy-paste job. In the past, many Hindi films have been accused of taking a bit too much inspiration from Hollywood and the list includes Pathaan. Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback project took the box office by storm this year, but was it an all-original work?
A Twitter user pointed out the similarities between Pathaan and Hollywood films like The Avengers, Mission Impossible-Fallout, No Time To Die, and Suicide Squad, among others. Scroll down for the receipts:

It appears few scenes from SRK’s Pathaan do look similar to popular international works. But the truth is films have inspired other films for over a century now. So, it is pretty much a grey area for cinephiles. IMO, as long as something is just inspired not copied, it isn’t a problem.
Not The First Case Of Pathaan & Plagiarism
This is not the first time Pathaan was accused of plagiarism. Right after the film’s track Besharam Rang dropped, Pakistani singer Sajid Ali made a comment on it being a copy of his song. The singer shared a video of his song and wrote, “After listening to a new movie’s song, It reminded me of my song I released 26 years ago, Ab Ke Hum Bichare. Enjoy!!”
Pathaan might have been inspired by a few films, but calling it a copy is an exaggeration. Don’t you agree?
