4 Ways To Look & Feel Your Best At Home During Lockdown

Most of us have been working from home for over a year, and it has been a mixed bag of emotions. Initially, the idea was exciting—we no longer had to go to the office every day, could work from our bed and even sneak in naps! However, as WFH continued, we began to get tired and restless. Plus, with the pandemic worsening and the devastation of COVID-19 left us all anxious and exhausted.

Unfortunately, nearly one and a half years later, the pandemic is far from over. While we urge you to get vaccinated so that you can get maximum protection against the virus, it will take a while before things get back to the new normal. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t make the most of staying indoors. There are plenty of ways to look and feel good about yourself while working from home, and we’re about to share some life-changing tips with you!

Change Out Of Your Pyjamas

We’re not suggesting you wear formal clothes while working at home. But if you continue to keep wearing the pyjamas you slept in last night, you will not transition into ‘work mode’. So after you take a shower in the morning, put on a comfy lounge set or some trendy co-ords. If you’re really feeling fancy, switch it up by wearing a cute but comfy dress you love. The point is to have separate ‘day clothes’ and ‘night clothes’, so that you don’t feel like pyjamas are the only thing you’ll ever wear now!

Style Your Hair

We get it, that top bun is easy to do and comfortable to wear all day. But it can also make you feel dull and unexcited. What if we told you that there are other ways to style your hair that are fun but equally comfy? You could braid your hair and accessorise it with pins and clips, or just leave it loose and add a funky hairband. If you really wanna go all out, you could always bring out your styling tools and curl, straighten or crimp your hair, depending on your mood! And if you’re getting late for a meeting, just a simple blow-dry can also do wonders for your hair (and mood!).

Get Zoom Call Ready

Ever since the pandemic struck in 2020, all our real-life events have now been transferred to Zoom. Whether it’s a meeting, happy hour with friends or a cousin’s wedding—we gotta do it all virtually. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be just as fun! If you find yourself in a funk, put some time and effort into dressing up for your zoom events. Put on a power blazer for your meetings and slip into a slinky dress for drinks with friends! And yes, it might seem extra, but we totally encourage you to wear your OTT lehenga for that virtual sangeet party. And don’t forget the makeup—it’s totally okay to go all out.

Jazz Up Your Nails

Do you know which part of your body can never look OTT, no matter how much you overdo them? Your nails! I love a good manicure, because it can make your hands look neat and well-groomed. Plus, the simple, repetitive motion of painting your nails is also known to be meditative, and can help relieve anxiety. So grab your nail kit and go all out. Glitter? Nail Art? Matte? Stick-Ons? There are no rules here! Envision your craziest nail ideas and paint those blues away!

We know that everyone is desperately waiting for things to go back to ‘normal’. But until that happens, it’s important to find happiness in any way we can and #KhayalRakhna.
