New Year’s parties are all great, but I always need a little self-care party to set the mood for the actual celebration. Maybe it’s for mental preparation because it works like a charm when I want to get ready for a get-together of any sort. Anyway, here are a couple of things we’ve listed for you to have a pre-New Year self-care party and enjoy a little time solo-dolo before mingling with others.
1. Set the mood with scented candles
If you want to start your self-care session on a good note, having your space smell delicious is the first, most basic step. You can choose a candle or an incense stick to get the vibe going.
2. Invest in a good bathrobe
You’ll feel the difference in the self-care you do when you’re wrapped in a lush and fluffy bathrobe. It’ll give you the vibe that you’ve checked into a luxurious hotel and are warm, safe and cosy. Go for it.
3. Have your bathtime essentials ready
You know all those jokes about the everything-showers that women take? Well, they are tiring but in the best way possible. I mean, imagine cleansing, exfoliating, and double moisturising being dead tired, and immediately tucking yourself into bed, feeling soft as a petal and getting the best sleep of your life. Sounds good right?
4. Get your skincare in order
5. Consider throwing on your cutest PJs
A good pair of pyjamas always helps me sleep or relax better. Those of you who also feel the same way, we’re hoping taking this step will enhance your self-care day after the shower.
6. Have your bedding in order
Getting into freshly laundered sheets after a shower is a whole vibe. You can even massage your face right before going to bed. It might help you relax further.
7. Have a playlist ready as well
You’ll probably want to listen to music throughout this process, so remember to have your playlist ready for the special occasion.
8. Consider making a pre-bedtime drink
This could be a nice hot cup of chamomile tea or a sleep-inducing mocktail. Depending on your tastes and comfort zones, decide and sip on this until you feel sleepy enough to finally go to bed.
9. Read a book or better yet listen to a sleepy story
You can listen to these sleepy stories by Get Sleepy or read a nice book to conclude the night on the most calming note.
We hope this will help you get into your partying mode smoothly!
