On Friday, 6th December, a 23-year-old woman, who was set on fire by two men accused of brutally raping her, succumbed to her injuries as she took her last breath at Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital.
The Unnao rape case survivor suffered 90% burns on her body when the accused -Shivam Trivedi and Shubham – threw kerosene on her and set her ablaze. The young survivor was on her way to a local court on Thursday to testify against the criminals when she was stabbed and burnt alive. After battling for her life for almost 40 hours, she suffered a cardiac arrest at 11:10 pm. The doctors tried to resuscitate her, but at 11:40 pm she breathed her last. This unfortunate incident took place at New Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital where she was airlifted and brought in.
