Google is a big part of our life, but we’re trading our personal information every time we use its services. Google Chrome is most likely your default browser, the drive has all your important documents, YouTube gets your attention almost all day, every day, and its search engine is getting to know all that you’re looking at online. Yes, we do realise Google has too much information about us. I am guessing a lot of you reading this article have had this realisation, but have you ever thought of reducing your dependence on Google? I don’t know about you, it seems like an impossible task to me.
And today, our convenient and reliable Google is celebrating is 21st birth anniversary. The search engine was founded by two Stanford Ph.D. students, Sergey Brin and Lawrence (Larry) Page, in September 1998. And they invented it in their dormitories at Stanford, California.
Google, on its birthday today, shared an interesting doodle (don’t we all love them?), which is a throwback of bulky computer machines that we used 21 years ago. It has garnered a LOT of response on Twitter. People are sharing their short and sweet stories on why Google is so important in their lives.
