Being a telly star sounds every bit glamorous. You get the love of millions of fans and it is so wholesome. But the entertainment biz has its problems. Over the years, many TV stars have spoken about their experience with casting coaches. In fact, Ratan Raajputh recently claimed she was almost drugged during an audition and the full story will send chills down your spine.
In an interview, Ratan claimed that she was caught in a casting couch situation after moving to Mumbai from Delhi. The Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo star said, “It happened around 2008. I was very scared to talk about it then, but now I am not afraid and I feel new actors should know about these things so that they are more alert.”
Ratan shared that she met a director for an audition at a cafe. During the meeting, she was allegedly offered a soft drink and despite her refusal, she was pushed to have a few sips. After she left, Ratan was called for the second round of the audition.
“The office where I had to give an audition had a few people, but it seemed a little fishy, so I left. An hour later, I started feeling dizzy and had no control over my body. I was sure that something was mixed in the soft drink. Luckily, I had reached home by that time,” added Ratan.
I am sure Ratan’s story will strike a chord with women all over the world. It is horrifying to know that even the simplest act of drinking a soft drink can have terrible consequences. Here’s hoping more actors get empowered to speak about their casting ouch experiences so that nobody dares to pull off such heinous acts ever again!
