5 Iconic Makeup Looks By Our Fave TV Show Characters That We Still Love Today

Obsessing over your favourite TV show character is normal. Dissecting their look to recreate it yourself is what you call a true makeup enthusiast. We know about your little secret because we’re just the same. And because we know how badly you want to give these signature looks a try, here is a simple beauty breakdown of some of our favorite ones.

2021 is the year of flashbacks and resurging trends and our likeness for ’90s fashion and beauty trends is at its peak. Naturally, our binge-watch list is a balance of the hot trending shows we can’t get enough of, along with a good mix of OG favourites from the ’90s to the early 2000s. This guide is a quick and easy way to ace all those drool-worthy makeup looks. And only because we like you too much, we have also included the very products you will need for the same.

Iconic Makeup Looks On TV That We Love Till Date

Rachel Green From F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

We start casually with Rachel Greene – the original heartthrob. Throughout the 10 seasons of F.R.I.E.N.D.S., we have seen Rachel grow with her fashion, beauty, and personal choices (not Ross, that remained the same). Except for special occasions, Rachel always wore subtle makeup. Obviously, the said simple look went through changes with trends – like lipstick was replaced with lip gloss in the later seasons, and the blush placement changed as she grew up. However, for this one, less is more.

If you wish to get that Rachel looks, find a concealer a shade lighter than your skin tone for bright under eyes. Use it only after colour correcting and concealing with a true tone concealer. Apply a balmy blush for a flushed and glowy look, and a smooth highlighter on high points of your face (skip highlighters with glitter particles). Finish the look with a lip colour or gloss of your choice. This look is perfect to be worn for college, office, and last-minute hangout plans.

Veronica Lodge From Riverdale

Veronica Lodge is a character every child obsessed over during their Archie Comics phase, only to fall deeper in love with Cami Mendes as Veronica in Riverdale. Doing justice to her character, her makeup statement is bold. In the show, you can always spot her donning a deep, berry pout.

Her look also includes steeply arched eyebrows that add to her makeup’s striking element. If you are thinking of going for this look, we would also suggest you use an illuminating primer or a dewy moisturizer for that natural-looking glow. This look would be perfect for a night out with your girls, or a date night with your man.

Maddy From Euphoria

Going for any Euphoria character makeup is gutsy and we applaud you for that. We can already tell that you’ve got elite taste. Although we absolutely love all the characters’ makeup looks from the show, we specifically gush over Alexa Demie’s (Maddy’s) expressive and vivid looks. She is often found wearing an exaggerated eyeliner look that is fearlessly dominating and we’re here for it.

Her wide-ranged liner looks include crystals for liner, red upper and lower lid liner, and extended black liner. Maddy’s makeup puts her eyes at the centre of attention, while she almost always uses a nude gloss for her lips. To achieve a similar look, get your hands on some bright coloured liners, poppy eyeshadow, and steal your mom’s bindis. Finish your look with a juicy lip gloss. For fuller-looking lips like Maddy, you can also use a lip plumper. This look is great for music festivals and parties. But don’t let that limit you. You can wear this look whenever and however you want.

Jackie Burkhart from That 70’s Show

YES! Mila Kunis was just 14 when she shot for this teen show. And that brings us to the soft, cottagecore, doe-eyed makeup look that gives off a younger-looking effect. Everybody from pre-teens to late-20’s is high on this trend and you can’t blame us. It’s easy, super-quick, and refreshing.

Blush is the hero product here and you can use a similarly toned lip tint, balm, or gloss for your pout. And to get that doe-eyed look, go for winged eyeliner, and a nude or white kajal for your waterline.

Maeve Wiley from Sex Education

Underrated- that’s the only word to describe this look. All of us have been the victims of late nights and taking our made-up faces to bed. Now that you have already committed a sin (and a deadly one at that), why not get something out of it?

Add some kajal to your smudged liner, and then smudge some more. You should be left with a controlled, unkempt smokey eye. Throw on some lip colour and you’re good to go. Make sure to not overdo your cheeks as this is an eye and lip-centered look.
