This Blogger Wore Her Bridal Emseble In 5 Ways & You Won’t Be Able To Tell One Outfit From The Other

The common complaint with wedding finery remains that while it costs quite a bomb, it isn’t really that versatile in the long run. Basically, we spend lakhs of money on an ensemble that is more often than not relegated to a forgotten corner of the cupboard after the D-day. Seriously, why do we keep doing this? Why aren’t we investing that kind of money in versatile pieces that can be worn again and again and can be used to create a capsule wardrobe? Well, we just found out a bride who asked all of these questions before spending big bucks on her wedding wear. The results? Absolutely mind-blowing!

Content creator Anushka Mulchandani recently talked about how she wore her wedding outfit in five different ways and we are mighty impressed. “This year, for my best friends’ weddings, I managed to repeat ALL my wedding clothes (some twice) and it’s made me v v happy,” she wrote while posting a video of herself in all five looks.

Here’s a closer look at Anushka’s versatile outfits and everything that we love about them:

The D-Day Look

“I love buying pieces that I know I will use over and over again, especially when they’re really expensive, to begin with (most wedding outfits are!),” says Anushka. She followed the same philosophy with her D-day outfit that comprised of an ivory saree, a gold blouse, and a blush dupatta. Anushka’s saree was embellished with colour-on-colour embroidery and featured a cutwork gold border that added a touch of opulence to the look.

Custom-made by Annie Nimmu, the outfit is every bit unique and reminds us of Rhea Kapoor’s recent wedding look. It is nice to see that more brides are opting for versatile and sustainable wedding day picks now. In case, you too want to take the sustainable route, we recommend that you invest in a solid, neutral-hued bridal basic. Here is an option:

The Reception Look

Anushka wore the very same ensemble for her own reception party. However, a tweak was involved. The bride swapped her dupatta with a statement duster jacket for the party. If you ask us–we definitely like this look more than the first one and totally dig the layering game which is on fire here. Here’s a pick in case you are looking for a similar separate:

For Her BFF’s Shaadi: Part 1

Anushka re-wore her wedding separates for not one, not two but three different occasions this year and styled them so well that you won’t be able to tell one outfit from another. It started off with a lehenga look for one of her BFF and cousin’s wedding. She perfectly matched her blouse and dupatta with a solid peach skirt and it resulted in a rather chic outfit, perfect for a day wedding.

For Her Bff’s Shaadi: Part 2

For her BFF, Sheefa Gilani’s wedding, Anushka stuck to the saree but opted for a new blouse to complete the look. Her blouse #2 featured statement cap sleeves and it is interesting to see how it is as versatile as the first one. She finished off the look with a loose chignon, minimal choker, and subtle, peachy makeup.

For the last look, Anushka paired her heavy gold jacket with an ivory skirt and a solid pink crop top for an indo-western look. She opted for a ruby choker to add a little more colour to the ensemble and finished off the look with intense, kohl-lined eyes.

Well, this surely convinced me to opt for versatile basics instead of an OTT lehenga on my D-day. What about you?
