Summer Bride 101: Your Fashion & Beauty Guide To Look Stylish & Feel Comfy!

Summer Bride 101: Your Fashion & Beauty Guide To Look Stylish & Feel Comfy!

Breezy fabrics, flowy silhouettes, subtle make-up and minimal jewellery… Just few of the things that a summer bride must keep in mind when deciding her looks. If you’re tying the knot in the coming months, here’s a checklist for you to follow while planning your shaadi outfits. Let go off the heavy and elaborate stuff and invest in pieces that’ll add to your comfort and style!

1. First things first – select the *right* fabric!

You want to wear fabrics that are comfortable, especially when you’re the bride-to-be. To make sure you enjoy every moment of your wedding to the fullest, pick light and breezy fabrics that allow your skin to breath. You can opt for lehengas in cotton, net, organza, chiffon, georgette and obviously, Banarasi silk!

2. Blouse(y) matters

Give those full sleeves and high necks a rest and get your blouse designed in a style that does not further add to the heat. Off shoulders, cold shoulders or strappy designs are super trendy and will keep you from feeling stuffy.

3. Colour it pastel!

Light colours are your best friends during the summer season! The fact that pastels are huge this wedding season is just an added bonus. Pick outfits in light colours like baby pink, yellow, icy blue and mint green, especially for day functions.

4. Skip the heavy embroidery, please?

You have no idea how much that heavy zari work and embroidery can irritate your skin and make you sweat in that hot, humid weather. Add to it jewellery and make-up and it will turn into doomsday. To avoid that, go for outfits that have subtle work on them. After all, there’s no rule book that says the heavier, the prettier, right?

5. Bold make-up? No, just no!

Thanks to the humidity, even the best of make-up can melt under the sun. We suggest you avoid layers of foundation or smokey eyes altogether. An au naturel matte look works best when the Sun God starts showering his grace! Add some colour and drama to your look by opting for a lipstick that makes your lips pop!

6. Make delicate jewellery your best friend!

Not that it becomes difficult to carry heavy jewellery in summers, but it just makes more sense to opt for lighter pieces. Heavy layered necklaces, elaborate mathapattis and haathphools will make you sweat and irritate your skin. So, go for a simple single-chain mathapatti or a maangtika, a delicate choker and a statement ring instead.

7. Keep your hair in check!

Open hairstyles look great, but for the summer bride it’s best to avoid them. Instead of soft curls, opt for a braided hairstyle. Chuck the messy bun for a chic top knot and make sure the hair are off your face and neck at all times. If you really want to leave your locks loose, keep it for an evening indoor function.

We hope some of these points can come in handy for you while you plan your wedding looks!
