What’s Better For Your Brows: Waxing Or Threading? We Find Out…

Since your eyebrows draw attention to your facial features, you must tame and shape them to perfection. When comes to maintaining your brows, you’re left with two worthy choices – waxing or threading. The good part is that both these hair removal methods can be done at home or at the parlour. The question is – which one do you stick to? We’ve listed the pros and cons of each method to help you make the best decision. You’re welcome!

Threading

Did you know that the Middle East was the first to introduce threading to the world? In fact, it’s popular and prefered by everyone because it’s the best and gets the job done fast. Threading also tackles and removes fine hair like a pro! Getting it done for the first time may be painful for some. However, it gets better with time.

Pros

1. It helps give your brows a more precise and detailed definition.

2. Compared to waxing, threading is more hygienic. Each cotton thread that comes in contact with your skin cannot be recycled and gets chucked away soon after.

3. Threading is quick and can be easily wrapped up in less than 10 minutes.

4. Unlike waxing, it does not leave behind product residue.

5. Sticking to threading does not lift, over-exfoliate or damage your skin.

Cons

1. Threading is far more expensive.

2. You could experience pain if not done right.

Waxing

Waxing is a quick and reliable way of removing unwanted hair. There are two types of wax though – hard and soft. While hard wax is to remove hair from sensitive areas like your bikini line and lips, soft wax is used on thick-skinned areas like underarms, thighs, legs and face.

Pros

1. The results of waxing prove to be the longest. (We’re talking about 4-6 weeks)

2. If you have a thick brow growth, you should consider waxing. It helps give your brows a better shape.

3. Hair tends to grow back finer than before.

4. It’s quick and can be done by yourself at home too.

Cons

1. Post-waxing, your skin becomes tender and prone to pain.

2. If not done well, waxing can burn your skin and cause breakouts, blisters and scars.

3. Your skin can get irritated due to wax residue or ingredients present in the wax.

4. Your hair has to be 1 cm long before it gets waxed.

Want A Quick Clean Up? Try Tweezing

Tweezing is inexpensive but it’s painful and time-consuming. It requires patience, skill and accuracy. If you don’t have any of these qualities, you’ll pluck out the wrong bunch of hair and that’s a mistake you don’t want to make.

Pros

1. You don’t have to make an appointment at the salon.

2. Tweezing can not only shape your brows but also remove small amounts of unwanted facial hair too.

3. A tweezer is inexpensive and can be used for multiple sessions.

Cons

1. For large areas of hair, don’t put your bets on tweezing because they’re time-consuming and painful.

2. It can cause ingrown hair and damage your skin

3. Within a week, your brows will grow back with a much thicker texture.

If Shaving Is Your Cup Of Tea…

The only good thing about shaving is that it’s quick, but we still won’t recommend it. Shaving causes hair to grow back thicker and darker. Plus the cons overweigh the pros. Why don’t you scroll to the bottom and see for yourself?

Pros

1. It’s quick to wrap up and simple to do.

Cons

1. Hair tends to grow back thicker, quicker and darker.

2. You could experience razor cuts and burns.

3. Does not remove the roots, but only the hair that lies above the skin

4. Changing the blades of razor can fall expensive.

Now that you got your answers to not just two hair removal techniques, but two more, which method will you choose? We’d love to know!
