While the nation celebrated Rakshabandhan yesterday, it was a dark day for late actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s sisters. His four sisters Neetu, Meetu, Priyanka & Shweta poured their hearts out through heartfelt notes, messages, and poems as they remembered their “pyara sa bhai“.

Sushant’s eldest sister, Neetu Singh (called Rani di by her siblings), penned a heartfelt letter for her deceased brother “Gulshan” she dearly called him. She wrote, “Today is your day. Today is our day. Today is rakhi. It is the first time in 35 years that the puja thaal is decorated, the diya is lit, but I cannot perform aarti for you. I cannot tie the rakhi on your wrist. I cannot feed you sweets. I cannot kiss your forehead. I cannot hug you. When you were born life became brighter. You spread joy in your lifetime. But now that you aren’t here, I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to live without you. I never thought I’d see this day — a day without you in it. We learned so much together. But how am I supposed to learn to live without you? You tell me. Forever yours, Rani di.”

Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti reposted the letter on her Instagram and captioned it, “My Rani Di [Nitu], we have always considered you our mother figure after Mumma. We love you so much! Happy Rakshabandhan my Rani Di…Bhai is always with us and we know it, we cannot deny his pulsating presence around us showering his love on us.”

Shweta also posted a childhood picture of all the siblings together on Rakshabandhan as she wrote about their love for Sushant and how they’ll keep loving their darling brother. “Happy Rakshabandhan mera sweet sa baby… bahut pyaar karte hain hum aapko jaan… aur hamesha karte rahenge… you were, you are and you will always be our PRIDE! ❤️ @sushantsinghrajput #happyrakshabandhan,” she wrote in the caption. Talking about the “excruciating pain” that he has left behind, Sushant’s sister Meetu Singh shared an emotional note for her brother as she promised to always maintain the bond that they shared in her heart. “Bhai, We are still in a state of shock and can’t believe that you aren’t there physically with us. The excruciating pain & the void you have left behind is immense and indescribable. My precious brother, my jaan, I still can’t say goodbye. I will maintain our sacred bond within my heart And shall keep it alive till eternity. I will keep laughing and crying on our shared memories, Until we meet again, bhai. You will always be my pride,” Meetu wrote.

Sushant’s sister Priyanka Singh also took to Twitter to post a picture with her brother as she wrote, “Missing u immensely my soulmate @itsSSR; you will always be in my heart…. no words to describe the void.” Here’s her tweet:

It is really heartbreaking to see the family struggling with the void that Sushant has left behind. Here’s wishing them strength and peace!
