Sruthy Sithara, a twenty-five-year-old from Kerala, just made history after she bagged the title of Miss Trans Global 2021. She is the first Indian transwoman to win this honour and we are incredibly proud of her! The model received the award on December 1 at her hometown Vaikom in Kerala during a virtual ceremony.
Sruthy took to the ‘Gram to express her delight about the big win. She penned, “Miss Trans Global 2021. This smile means a lot. For me, for my community, for my country, for the transglobal organization, for all those who are oppressed and marginalized. Here’s I am, Sruthy Sithara, Miss Trans Global 2021 Title Winner. Thank you so much to all who were behind this successful journey.”
In another post, Sruthy paid tribute to Anannyah Kumari Alex, Kerala’s first transgender Radio Jockey. She wrote, “Proud at its peak I am dedicating this to my Amma & Anannyah chechi, i’m sure I’m are witnessing this moment from heaven Thank you so much all who behind this successful journey Lots of love to my mentors @namithamarimuthu @renjurenjimar”
Who Is Sruthy Sithara?
Sruthy is currently working as a project assistant at the Kerala government’s Social Justice Department. She is also a model and an LGBTQ+ activist. Apart from being crowned the Miss Trans Global 2021, she also won the title of Eloquent Queen of the year 2021 at the same event.
In her audition tape, Sruthy spoke about her decision to take part in the competition. She said, “This title will help me in leading and inspiring life with self-esteem, pride and dignity, not just for me, but for a crowd of people who hide their faces under the shades of the rainbow. I want to show the world that we are capable of doing everything that a human does.”
Sruthy will now be Miss Trans Global 2021’s spokesperson and work with grassroots organisations to influence positive changes in the transgender community globally. NGL, we are beyond excited for her!

The Miss Trans Global is an international online pageant for trans and gender-nonconforming people. Ever since its inception in 2017, the pageant has become a prestigious platform for the LGBTQ+ community.
